There comes a time when you come across a product that you are dubious about trying – for me it was the Ecoegg!
Ecoegg told me about their passion of producing eco-friendly products that don’t include any harsh chemicals, are environmentally friendly and good for your health. They sent me my very own Soft Cotton Laundry Egg and some stain remover to test out.
How to setup the Ecoegg
Setting the Ecoegg really couldn’t be any simpler. Each box includes an egg and two types of pellets, dark coloured tourmaline pellets and white mineral pellets. You simply press the child proof button on the side of the egg, twist it open, fill with the pellets and pop the lid back on.
You get 3 different sizes of Ecoeggs – 54 washes, 210 washes or 720 washes. According to Ecoegg, 720 washes will last the average family 3 years and at just 3p a wash – will save you heaps of money!
How to use
When you want to do a wash, you simply pop the egg in with your clothes – no additional detergent is required. You don’t even have to add conditioner if you don’t want to – I personally chose to as I love my clothes really soft. When you have finished using the Ecoegg, simply leave it out to dry.
How the Ecoegg works
“The dark coloured tourmaline pellets weaken the adhesive forces between the dirt and fabric. The white mineral pellets naturally ionize the oxygen molecules in the water which then penetrate deep into the fabric lifting away the dirt and grime, without fading colours or damaging the fibres.
Scientific testing shows that these two types of pellets used together give the best cleaning results. The ionized oxygen molecules also increase the pH level of the water, which has a natural softening effect on your laundry.” – Ecoegg.
One word – WOW!
I have been using Ecoegg in my washing for the last few weeks and absolutely LOVE it. Much to my suprise, the Ecoegg DOES effectively remove dirt and stains. My husband got dark grease on one of his shirts – I used the stain remove first, popped it in the wash as usual and the stain was completely gone!
One of the things I love the most is that the Ecoegg doesn’t leave any residue on your clothes. There’s nothing worse than getting white residue on new clothes after their first wash!
With the Ecoegg, life is simple. Throw it in the machine and stop worrying about the amount of detergent you are using. You can also feel good knowing that your washing is more eco friendly too! Here at Norfolk Mums HQ – we highly recommend this to all our mums.
Cheap – with a wash costing as little as 3p – how can the price not been a pro?!
Easy to use – no measuring out liquids & powders.
No residue – a huge plus for me! Kiss goodbye to those annoying white marks on your new clothes.
Effectively removes stains – gentle eco cleaning doesn’t have to mean putting up with stains.
No bleach or harsh chemicals – the Ecoegg is said to be gentle on skin and great for eczema sufferers.
Skip extra rinses – with the Ecoegg the rinse cycle can be significantly reduced, saving water, time and electricity.
A bit noisy – the egg is made out of rubber which proved to be a little noisy in my machine.
Smell – I found my washing did not smell of anything – not a major problem but something to bear in mind.
